Founding Pastor and Georgia native, Bryan James is a graduate of Pentecostal Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters Degree in Church Leadership with an emphasis in Missions. He and his wife Elaine moved to California in 2005 to launch Monterey Church. They have four children: Rachel, Sarah, Julia, and Samuel. Bryan enjoys running, college football, books, his family and mission trips to expand the work of Monterey Church.

Jedi grew up with a passion for music. At the age of 17, he felt a strong calling to use his gifts for God. He joined Monterey Church in August 2010 as Worship Leader, assisting Joe Smith in building the Monterey Church music department. He has also developed a love for Marketing and is now serving as the Social Media Director. Jedi has a heart to see the younger generation fall in love with Christ and follow Jesus at the expense of everything else. He studies at Monterey Peninsula College and is soon to be a student at Ohio Christian University to receive his Bachelor's of Science in Christian Psychology.

Born in San Jose, California, Jeshua grew up with a fondness for computers and technology. In May of 2011, he was appointed to build and maintain Monterey Church’s graphics and video department. Jeshua aims to use his creative abilities to encourage people in their walk with Christ to find truth in God’s Word and experience His abundant Grace. He is currently attending Ohio Christian University as a full-time online student- working on an Associate's Degree in Christian Ministries and eventually a Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Ministry.

Bobby was born in Fort Ord CA and grew up in Broward County, FL. He began working with Monterey Church as a Security Guard and became a member shortly thereafter. He is a former Whitewater River Guide, Bill Graham Presents Security Guard, Panetta Institute Employee and is the present owner of Current Comics. He has a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Criminal Justice.

Bobby is a proud father, husband, brother and family man.

Born and raised in Visalia, California, Crystal moved to Monterey in 2000. She is married to Bobby Gore, and together they have two kids, Logan and Hailey. She’s been extremely blessed by the different environments of Monterey Church and is excited to be helping with the Kids' Church and Wired ministries.

Gary came to Monterey in 1979 with his wife, Doree. They raised three beautiful children. Over the years Gary has served the Lord as a church youth director, AWANA Director and Family Faith Training leader, among other jobs in his local church. After 35 years in the building trades, God called him to put his hammer down. "I used to build houses. Now God has called me to build children's lives." Just call him, "Mr. Gary."

Doree has been involved with children in church since…well, as long as she can remember. With most of her experiences in music she has also led many children’s choirs and holiday pageants and helped in VBS over the years. She works with her husband, Gary, and assists him in the many and varied jobs with the Kids’ Church. Part time in the office and ministering in dGroups and other parts of the ministry with our church body, Doree uses her desire to learn and grow in this next exciting period of her life with the kids of Monterey Church.

Ro has immense experience as a pastor and leader in the church. He has served as a youth pastor, elder and associate pastor and in addition to serving now at Monterey Church is a chaplain at our community hospital. He is a graduate of Bethany Bible College and has also spent 20 years in the military. He is married to Diane and they are among the founding members of Monterey Church.

Tyler joined our staff just three months after he was born. We recognized his incredible giftedness for food clean-up as a volunteer. We like to promote from within and Tyler showed he had the nose for the job. Other than cleaning up after events, Tyler enjoys attending staff meetings and going out for lunch.
